Keep Checking Your Heart

This morning during my quiet time, something was laid strongly on my heart: this is an ongoing process. I must always and continually listen to the Lord.

When God calls something out in us, it means He cares about it. If He did not care, He would not bring it to our attention. His correction is not meant to condemn us, but to draw us back to Him.

So, what did I do? I repented again. And I realised that I must keep repenting, keep listening, and keep allowing the Lord to examine my heart.

I spoke to the Lord, and He heard me.

Our hearts must remain turned toward Him. We have to stay focused on Him, because it is possible to become the very thing we are standing against if we stop allowing God to examine and correct us.

So this is my reminder this morning: keep checking your heart, no matter what.

Keep listening to the Lord. Keep repenting when He corrects you. Keep your heart directed toward Him.

We must never become so focused on what is wrong around us that we fail to notice what may be going wrong within us.

Lord, keep my heart close to You. Keep correcting me, shaping me, and helping me to become what You have called me to be. Amen.
