A Note on Patience

Patience is not waiting without complaint. It is trusting while you wait.
Patience is the virtue I find most difficult. Not because I cannot wait, but because I so often wait without trust, gritting my teeth, enduring rather than believing.
But biblical patience is different. It is not passive endurance. It is active trust. It is the confidence that God is at work even when I cannot see it.
“The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”
If His words are life, then waiting on them is not wasted time. It is the soil in which life grows.
Trust while you wait. The harvest is coming.
